The Airstream

What began as a bare, dilapidated shell has been transformed into a high-end, one-of-a-kind rental designed for events and festivals.

Our client approached us with a vision: to breathe new life into a 1930s American Airstream and turn it into a stylish, functional space that sleeps eight and includes a kitchen, bathroom, and loo.

The renovation was full-scale. A team of specialist restorers revived the aluminium body and overhauled all internal systems. From there, we worked closely with the client and a talented carpenter to reimagine the layout — ensuring every inch was used effectively.

Materials were selected not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their lightness and durability. The design needed to be ergonomic, streamlined, and completely practical.

We focused on creating a cosy atmosphere while honouring the unique character of the Airstream. By blending metals, introducing soft textures, and using a playful yet refined colour palette, we brought warmth and personality into the space.

A truly rewarding project — and a beautiful revival of iconic 1930s American design.
