Guest wing in historic country home

We were delighted to be entrusted with this project. Our clients invited us to transform a former self-contained apartment within their stately home into a beautifully appointed guest wing. The brief was to create a seamless connection with the main house while giving the space a fresh, updated feel. We were also asked to incorporate treasured original pieces — antiques, heirlooms, furniture, fabrics, and textiles — to honour the home’s history.

The landings and adjoining corridors served as the natural link to the rest of the property, so we selected a striking yet understated wallpaper paired with an elegant paint palette to create a sense of flow and cohesion.

Each of the four bedrooms began with inspiration from an existing piece of furniture or fabric. From there, we developed individual schemes that give every room its own distinct personality, reflecting both the surrounding landscape and our clients’ love of charming, beautifully detailed interiors.

The result is a warm, inviting, and characterful guest wing, complete with thoughtfully designed bathrooms and a perfect backdrop for our clients’ art and glass collections.
